Sophia’s Story

I grew up surrounded by the wisdom of folk herbalism, where herbs and spices were a natural part of everyday life. Healing with plants wasn’t something we questioned—it was simply what we did. But when I moved to the U.S. at 24, I found myself in a different world—one where herbal knowledge wasn’t as readily available, and modern healthcare was the default option.

When I started experiencing fibromyalgia, sciatica, and unexplained pain, I turned to doctors for help. But after countless visits and no real answers, I realized I had become disconnected from the traditions I once knew so well. That’s when I made the conscious decision to return to herbs—but this time, I wasn’t just relying on family wisdom. I immersed myself in studying herbalism, learning how to integrate both Eastern and Western plant medicine. Through this journey, I discovered the root cause of my pain and, with the help of herbs, healed myself.

This experience deepened my trust in the power of plants. When my children were young and struggling with ear infections, I chose herbal support over surgery. They healed completely, reinforcing my belief that nature provides what we need—we just have to learn how to use it.

With every success, my passion grew. I formally studied herbalism, expanded my knowledge, and started making plant medicine at home. But finding high-quality herbs and reliable resources was a challenge. I knew others must be facing the same struggle. That’s when my husband and I decided to create something bigger.

In 2022, we opened Spring to Health Apothecary, a space where people can find guidance, high-quality herbs, and the knowledge to take control of their health naturally. Today, I work as a clinical herbalist, offering consultations and teaching herbalism classes at our apothecary in Keller, TX.

For me, herbalism isn’t just about plants—it’s about empowerment. It’s about reclaiming health, trusting our bodies, and reconnecting with the wisdom that has always been there. If you’re ready to explore this path, I’m here to walk alongside you.

A Journey Rooted in Tradition and Healing

However, it wasn’t until I was 25 that my path truly unfolded. I began experiencing unexplained leg pain, tingling, and numbness. Despite consulting numerous doctors, I was left without answers or relief. Frustrated and determined, I turned to the herbal wisdom that had been a part of my life since childhood. Through deep exploration and study, I discovered the root cause of my condition and, with the help of herbs, healed myself.
